Matti, I know how to make Java work on Ubuntu by hand.  Alex asked us to
test what happens for normal users, for whom something either happens
automatically and properly or it doesn't work, so that's what I reported
on a clean install of Hardy Beta.

Attached is the plugin registry, for what it is worth.  Hardy still
installs GCJ Web Browser Plugin (using IcedTea), so that's what such
users would get.
