I am still having this issue, even after upgrading all packages in the
current 8.04 dev distribution. Running x86_64.
When using sudo it does work, when just using it as user, it doesn't.
$ gphoto2 --auto-detect

$ gphoto2 --get-all-files

have read/write access to the device.
