I suppose you mean "workgroup". In my case, when using the hardy-alfa6-live CD the box was not in the same workgroup as the others. However, the virtual machine running up-to-date hardy was integrated in the same domain of all other network machines (including those running gutsy and debian, which do not show the bug).
