Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

this is about the backported firefox 3 under Gutsy package!

I reported it first under https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191796, but
was redirected here to open a new bug

Description:

Sometimes firefox doesn't recognizes the homepage (in my case netvibes),
and opens the home folder (~) instead.

Reproduce:
1.
When Firefox 3 checks if it can become the default browser, say yes.
This sets up System -> Preferences -> Default apps as a custom browser with
command : /usr/lib/firefox-3.0-3.0b4/firefox-3.0 "%s"

2.
Then set up a keyboard shortcut to open Firefox 3. Click on it, and instead of
your homepage, you'll get your home folder.

3.
If you open firefox by clicking in the Apps menu, on a shortcut icon or in the
console, then the homepage works as expected (in my case netvibes comes in).

** Affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
