Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 8.04 beta, as available on 22th of March, liveCD, amd64.

Printer on USB detected correctly.
Printer job correctly added, after one or two second panel applet says "out of
paper",
while printer is correctly fed with paper and signs it with green led, next,
after
additional few seconds panel applet says "other". After a few minutes printer
starts
"printing", giving several empty pages or pages with single line of junk.

In Feisty (7.04) printing worked great out-of-the-box, I didn't even have to
check settings.
Since Gutsy all available drivers make problems: they print very slow, report
error "other",
do errors in printed pages, and/or don't print at all.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
