Searching other bug reports I came across bug 172550.
Does changing your printer driver in System -> Admin -> Printing to "HP
LaserJet 1200 Foomatic/hpijs" help the situation? (click on the
"Change" button next to Make and Model in the "Printer Configuration"
window).
