I dropped an RTL8169-based PCI card into the system and disabled the Marvell controller. This solved the lockup problem completely - and it also solved my problem with corrupted updates.
Now I'm debating whether or not to return the motherboard and get something with a Realtek, Nvidia, or Intel controller on-board, or keep the motherboard and get an Intel PCIe card so I don't have to waste a PCI slot. The on-board Marvell is simply unusable. -- Sky2 ethernet failing randomly with Marvell 88E8056 gigabit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138611 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
