I'm not going to pretend I followed your example because you suggested hardware issues in your example David....I read each and every one of the posts in this bug report. and in short, the problem can be divided into exactly 2 groups,, driver issue, and NM. in both cases the result is the same, no network connection. in some of the cases it looks like the issue was NM alone, while in other cases it was BOTH the driver and NM. I guess what I'm irked about is that there seems to be concern for printer drivers working "out of the box" but we can't get the same attention to network connectivity. I think this issue is a show stopper. If I have to expose my wireless network to the bad guys, then I should probably look for another distro.
I'm irked that I have put lots of effort into testing for the last 4 years and providing feed back and can't seem to get this BUG addressed, its like its just too much of a hassle for the devs. to give any attention to. I do not see it as different problems. NM is the front end to other network software and NM brings everything togather to make the network connection. I don't see it as seperate issues, I see it as smaller parts of a common software failing for different reasons. I love the distro, but this is a clear lack of concern for the users for far too long. -- can't connect to hidden network https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/50214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
