open a new file in gedit with this content:

Place the cursor in the middle of the file.
Go to search and replace and choose to replace toto by titi with no wrap
around.
The file contains now:
titi
titi
titi
titi
titi
titi
titi
The file should contain:
toto
toto
toto
toto
titi
titi
titi
