** Description changed: Dear Developers - thank you for your effort in making next Ubuntu LTS :) I installed ubuntu-8.04-beta-desktop-i386.iso on Acer TravelMate 2000. It suspends to ram without any problem, but when I try to resume, I have a black screen, the fan which gets high speed and the system freezes... The only solution is the "hard reset"... If you need more info, logs, let me know, which command to run from terminal :) Once again - thank you very much for your great job and BestRegards~~Piotrek~~pe3no. P.S. Now I think that this bug could have something to do with acpi package (?) I had another problem with slow startup and after I added "acpi=off noapic --" in menu.lst it starts better... + + //2008-03-24 + Hello again, I made another installation - ubuntu-8.04-beta-alternate-i386.iso on my TM2000. + During startup there's another error message that I didn't catch before: + "acer_acpi no or unsupported WMI interface unable to load" + laptop still doesn't want to resume from suspend to ram. Hibernation also doesn't work. + It seems to hibernate, but when I reboot, it didn't load the hibernation image, but simply loads system. + + If you need more info, logs, etc., let me know, which command I have to run from terminal :) + Once again good luck for Hardy :) + + BestRegards~~Piotrek~~pe3no.
