If there isn't, then an allowance should definitely be made for the openoffice.org-math package. This is installed by default in EVERY previous release of Ubuntu and is used by a lot of people. At present the option to edit, or insert formulae is simply greyed out. This cause problems for a significant number of users is should imagine.
