When the system starts up (first installation) the screen appears blurry. If I
try to change the resolution I can't find 1440x900, if I choose another
resolution I can't change it because the "apply" button is grayed.
I tried to check which driver was in use and I noticed that the ATI proprietary
driver, although enabled, was not used.

My ATI radeon x1650 pro isn't recognized. Can't set my widescreen resolution to
1440x900.
