Public bug reported:
I have a CD containing the i386 hardy beta alternate installer. For
reasons which I think have to do with an old fstab entry, it mounted in
'/media/Ubuntu 8.04 beta', or similar. When you run the cdrom upgrade
script on this path, you just get the prompt straight back, no errors,
no nothing. In particular, no upgrade. When I remounted the CD in
/media/cdrom0 and ran the script, it ran fine.
