I have the same problems, but I have two machines, both running 7.10, the first is AMD the other is Intel.
The problem for me seems to be the hard-drive itself. I have three SAMSUNG HD161HJ disks and one Maxtor. No UDMA mode is enabled for any of the samsung disks, independently of which machine it is connected to. The AMD has a VIA-SATA RAID controller, the Intel board has a controller from Intel. The Maxtor disk has UDMA 5 enabled. Conclusion: The differences on the disks have impact. I also have a question: can it be that the samsung disks themselves do not support any UDMA/DMA mode? -- Slow SATA performance https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/119730 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
