I see this issue with network-manager. Hardy beta, nm-applet 0.6.6
My work network is the similar to the original bug poster.

This works with wpa_supplicant in command line, but doesn't work with
network-manager

network={
ssid="abc"
key_mgmt=IEEE8021X
eap=peap
phase2="auth=MSCHAPV2"
ca_cert="/etc/cert/abc.pem"
identity="ME"
passwd="MYPASSWD"
}

In fact, nm doesn't even recognize that I am connected after I am connected
through wpa_supplicant
It should be noted that the SSID is hidden.
I use ndiswrapper and windows drivers (rt61 pci). The original rt2x00 driver
that comes in hardy doesn't seem to support WPA2.

Let me know if you need any other information
