when I play a testsound, e.g. with paplay test.wav (file test.wav says: test.wav: RIFF (little-endian) data, WAVE audio, Microsoft PCM, 16 bit, mono 22050 Hz) , then pavumeter shows "moving" signal levels, but I still can hear nothing.
