Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal

The install script tries to do something in /var/hal, which doesnt
exist, /var/hald does, symlinking temporarely solved it for me.

the problem occurs on a fresh hardy install when updating hal to
0.6.13+svn86-0ubuntu3.

I expected apt-get upgrade to install the packages , instead it failed
on installing hal(and some dependant packages on hal).
