I am not able to reproduce this. I created a database using
5.0.22-0ubuntu6.06.6 then used the above mysqldump command. Then I
upgraded to 5.0.22-0ubuntu6.06.8 and used the above dump command and
compared the resulting dumps. Only change was the 'Server version'.
This was not on a large database though.
1. did mysqldump display any errors? If so, what were they?
2. can you see look in the dump file and see what is possibly causing
the problem (eg repeated entries and what entries might have caused it)?
3. what is the output of:
$ dpkg -l|grep mysql
** Changed in: mysql-dfsg-5.0 (Ubuntu)

Status: New => Incomplete
