This mess is deeper than I thought. Because problems with casts smack of
word-size bugs, I tried building swt-gtk in a 32-bit pbuilder
environment, which works fine.

Some more investigation turned up Debian bugs #354358 and #361430, which
indicate that because of various problems involving Java and native
pointers, the package doesn't compile/run on amd64 or other 64-bit
arches.

The partial solution is to adjust swt-gtk and azureus to only build on
i386 and ppc, so that at least 32-bit users or those with i386 chroots
can use it. I don't think it's worth it the trouble though.
