The error messages dont' match up exactly to bug #176377, so I suspect it's a separate issue. "Active ring not flushed" is a pretty generic error message and doesn't indicate what the underlying problem is.
Generally, rather than the error message, the key things to look at for comparing bugs is what it LOOKS like (i.e. screen photos), and backtraces. Indeed, in order to make any forward progress troubleshooting this bug, first we need backtraces from people. Please see http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingXorg for an explanation on how to do this. Likely, you'll need to ssh into the box once it's locked up, and attach gdb to the Xorg process.
