Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: yelp
I have a Lexmark X5150 All in One printer. The driver that was
configured for the printer when I installed Ubuntu doesn't work. I get
a click noise and the connection stops.
I located a linux driver for Lexmark 5000 on the print setup option with
the same results.
I've spent days searching help files, forums, etc searching for a
resolution. I've even copied a few posted hardware command line tests to
my 'may try file,' However, after having just read a newly posted
warning about dangerous codes being posted on the forums and it scared
the heck out of me. So until I am a bit more educated n Ubuntu
language, I don't think I should try them.
The fact is, I am at the point where I must have access to my printer.
I have just located a driver offered on the Lexmark Websiste for the.
However it is for Lexmark 5150 running on the Caldera OpenLinux
operating system. I know nothing about the Caldera OpenLinux. So,
before I tried the driver I thought I should ask if there could b a
problem with trying it.
The Caldera OpenLinux driver is called N5WSU.hqx
