Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
When attempting to suspend or hibernate my Toshiba Tecra M2, the screen
goes black for quite a while... but nothing happens. After about 20
seconds of inactivity (no CPU cycles or disk usage indicated by the
front LEDs), I have to hold down the power button to do a cold reboot.
After booting back up from an attempted hibernate, it doesn't remember
anything.
This happens when I select "Suspend" or "Hibernate" from the "Quit"
button, or right-click menu on the power management tray icon.
Below are messages taken from /var/log/messages after an unsuccessful
suspend or hibernate:
