I can confirm this bug on my Thinkpad T60. Running Ubuntu 7.10 (with all current fixes as of this date) and the power managment for the display is very buggy.
Mainly I want it to not dim unless not used for more than 5 minutes so when I'm reading something on battery power the display doesn't suddenly go to minimum brightness after like 30 seconds.
