I don't know that anything has changed. If something did change regarding the icon, I would have seen it with an update. I reinstalled ark-kde4 but there still isn't an icon. Unless it is only included in the oxygen icon package... Scratch that. I checked the oxygen icon package & did a search, but it doesn't include an Ark icon either.
Could you try to find where the icon is located?
