Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ntfs-3g

This is a trivial request for improvement rather than a bug report.

ntfs-3g refuses to mount hibernated disks - however, you can mount them
read-only fine. It would be nice if the error message reflected that.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/mnt$ sudo mount /dev/sda2 tmp/
Windows is hibernated, refused to mount.
Failed to mount '/dev/sda2': Operation not permitted
The NTFS partition is hibernated. Please resume and shutdown Windows
properly, so mounting could be done safely.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/mnt$ sudo mount -o ro /dev/sda2 tmp/
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/mnt$

Perhaps "shut down Windows properly, or mount the partition in read-only
mode"?

** Affects: ntfs-3g (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
