Just checked--the MD5 of hydrogen stays the same after installing
dbgsym, so you're probably right. Looks like it just installs a copy
of the executables under /usr/lib/debug.

In any case, you're welcome to just close this bug for now and I'll
reopen it later if I can get more information ..?  I've got a few more
to report anyway :)
