Public bug reported: Hardware: Compaq Presario SR1750nx, AMD 64 Athelon, ATI Radeon xpress 200, Compaq FS7600 Monitor. After Booting the latest Beta of Hardy The computer boots normal then instead of loading into the Gnome Desktop I come to a log in screen with a count down. After the countdown completes it attempts to load the Gnome Desktop again but fails. Then it comes back to the login screen. I am not able to login with any of the optional sessions either. and ctrl+alt+F2 will not load into command line as it normally does. I have also tried to boot in safe Graphics mode this mode did work although it did not auto configure for my screen. Within safe graphics mode I was able to run the Hardware Diagnostics tool and file it.
Note this bug is also related to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/188660 I am filing this one separate because that bug covers the Alpha release not the Beta. So If I have done this in error please merge the two bugs. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Hardy] Live CD doesn't load desktop https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209264 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
