Public bug reported:

When trying an upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy, the Upgrade Tool crashes
with a "Cannot allocate memory" error. This is the traceback from the

OSError: [Errno 12] Cannot allocate memory
As per the instructions in the error window, I am opening this bug
report and uploading the files apt.log and main.log.
This bug is probably a duplicate of 107188. In any case, the temporary
workaround mentioned in the description of that bug has worked in my
case.
