Binary package hint: gdm
When booting up this message is shown:
'The greeter application appears to be crashing. Attempting to use a different
one'.
Further investigation shows there are some version discrepancies between
gdm and gdmgreeter:
'Cannot start the greeter. The greeter version (2.20.4) does not macth
the daemon version...'
dpkg shows:
ii gdm 2.20.4-0ubuntu2
I reinstalled gdm with purging all files to no avail.
