I can confirm this issue. If I go to Places - Network - Windows Network - Workgroup - <Name of WindowsXP machine> - Then it should show a shared folder, but it doesn't. It's nothing just a blank nautilus window.
However if I use smb://<name of winxp>/<shared folder> then it work to access it. Or if using the ubuntu 7.10 or other win machine.
