Confirmed what Ephemeral said, however it is not always possible to
modify /etc/hosts due to a sudo bug (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-meta/+bug/195308) and
therefore it is necessary to follow the steps below:

Go to:

system > Administration > Network

> unlock the window with your password > go to the tab Host, on the
second part of the the first line ( 127.0.0.1 ) type / replace the
missing host by your host name, in my case that was mike-desktop the
host given during the install.

This needs to be fixed so it is not necessary to follow these steps for
the final version however.
