Fresh Hardy Heron Beta install, I am using the headphone and mic jack on the front of the system to use my conventional headset. The machine is a Gateway CX2724. The behaviour shown is that any application which tries to record from any microphone immediately hangs and is unable to continue. I usually xkill them after a few minutes. The same behaviour is shown under gOS (an ubuntu derivative), and was shown under Feisty. This is a significant error for me and is preventing this laptop from being full-time ubuntu.
