No, you read more closely; no commenter on the 'duplicate' bug has had
perfect window decoration rendering but no shadows - At no point has
compiz rendered shadows for me (although it does render shadows fine on
the task-bar previews), and at no point has it mis-rendered the window
decoration.
This bug isn't about glitchy rendering, it's about shadows being
skipped, for whatever reason. If the duplicate bug covers this situation
too (which it doesn't), it needs to be split into two separate bugs, as
these are clearly two different issues.
