Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: compiz
1. System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects.
2. Changed from "None" to "Normal".
3. Prompted to enable nvidia stuff (can't really remember).
4. Re-started at the request of step 3.
5. Logged in as User1.
6. Switched user to User2 using the little drop-down dialog in the top right
handle corner of the screen.
7. Went to System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects to confirm
that User2 was also using "Normal" effects.
8. Closed Appearance Preferences dialog.
9. Switched user to User1 using the little drop-down dialog in the top right
handle corner of the screen.
10. Display went white.
11. Waited for a good 60 seconds, display still white...
12. On a guess I tried entering my password even though the screen was still
white.
13. To my surprise I successfully logged in as User1.
Hope that's enough info...
(I've tried it a few times always to the same affect...)
