Public bug reported:
The boot process stops after "Running local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)
after updating to linux-image-2.6.24-13-generic. The process seems to
try to load the X-Server and the cursor appears several times and
disappear immediately again. After booting in recovery mode and
deinstalling the nvidia-driver the system boots normally afterwards.
Under 2.6.24-12-generic everything works fine with the nvidia-driver.
