As if to further make me look like an idiot, after ages of completely
fine behaviour (except for the lack of shadows), the missing window-
decoration bug hit me just now, followed by the weird 'most of screen
remains shadowed after gksu dialog' glitch...
So, you're right, this is almost certainly a duplicate and I apologise
for questioning :) Will comment again if a later driver fixes these
other issues but this remains, thanks for your patience!
