I can confirm the black-on-black text using the alternate install CD on AMD64 (from today) while trying to install on a Dell Optiplex 755. vc1 in all it's ncurses/whiptail goodness is always fine, but switching VT's to anything else AFTER the first time (which works) results in black-on- black text with a blinking cursor. This is run through a KVM switch, but I doubt that's the problem since vc1 shows up fine.
I also can't install because after it creates my standard ext3 root partition, it won't mount it. mount fails with 'Invalid argument' when run manually from a vc, even tough a manual mke2fs works fine on the same partition. But I'll open another bug for that. Earlier hardy LiveCD installs work fine on the same hardware, but i wanted a minimal, non-graphical install. -- [hardy] installer failure with existing RAID+LVM setup https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205384 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
