Public bug reported:

My version of Ubuntu is 8.04 Beta with all updates applied.

When I use the hibernate function the computer writes to disk for a while.
It stops after a while but it doesn't switch the computer off (all the lights
and the fan stay on). I have to manually switch it off after it stops using the
hard drive. I know it hibernates OK because I can see all my open tasks after
restarting.

Please ask for any logs you may need.

Maybe it is important to note that It does fully switch off when I use "Shut
down". The computer is an HP Laptop tx1215nr (tx1000 series).
I also want to note that Hibernate didn't work with 7.10. Many other things
didn't also work. I'm very happy with Hardy
