I had this while using the ubuntu update manager upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 when
in the end exited with status 1 or something...
then while doing aptitude distro-upgrade to try and fix the broken packages,
apt-get check states is all fine while aptitude find a lot of troubles

The following packages have been kept back:
  linux-backports-modules-hardy linux-backports-modules-hardy-generic
linux-restricted-modules-xen openoffice.org-base-core openoffice.org-common
  openoffice.org-core openoffice.org-draw openoffice.org-filter-binfilter
openoffice.org-gnome openoffice.org-gtk openoffice.org-impress
  openoffice.org-math openoffice.org-style-human openoffice.org-writer
python-uno
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 15 not upgraded.

and I can-t seem to update or upgrade..
I was trying to use xen since the linux kernel loads twice as fast with my AMD
Turion 64X2 virtualization extensions use.
Truth is I lost 3D and broadcom wireless with the update.. let's see what
happens.
