Hello Xander,
Its great that you are getting back to me on this issue and this just
adds to the reason why I love Ubuntu. To answer your question, the laptop
which I had before ( on which I had an issue with the sound) is gone and I
am using another laptop. It has a connexant sound card and is Intel core 2
duo as opposed to the previous AMD. Also, I am running Ubuntu 7.10 on a
dedicated partition.
Thanks to the Ubuntu team, the sound works perfectly fine on the newer
version i.e. 7.10 . I still feel there may be an issue related to activating
the "Restricted Drivers" on the computer to enable the various effects. But
this is entirely another problem I believe.
