Shivan, can you explain why you suspect it's an ACPI issue rather than X? Other possibilities could include performance problems, or incorrect modelines. These can all cause different kinds of flicker. Performance flickering you would expect to be accompanied by cpu loads. Modeline issues will go away or change nature by switching to other resolutions.
If the issue is visible on the tty console (either while X is running or not), then that would pretty much rule out X.
