Hi, Sorry that it's taken me a while to reply. I've looked at the links that you have sent me, but I don't see how I can get the requested log. My computer is completely frozen, the only thing that I can do is restart my computer. Hence, I have no log files. Booting from the live CD shows that Ubiquity did not get as far as formatting the specified drive (which makes sense the last message that appears on the progress bar is that it is detecting filesystems). And this time it didn't affect my bootloader ( but this might be because I was temporarily using a copy of Mandriva).
