Hi Shay, I had this issue as well. The solution was to go into
System>Preferences>Appearance>Theme, select a different theme (such as
Human-Murrine) and then reselect Human. This put everything back to
normal and relieved me greatly.

Sorry to say I have no idea what caused this or what other effects it
may have. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
