I've tried running hwtest-gtk several times now, on the off chance that info about my hardware might be useful to you developers. However, the program always seems to freeze up and use 100% cpu power for CPU1. This happened right after I clicked "Next" after the question about the mouse working (which it does). So I decided to do a bit more research. After looking into cpu consumption per process, I found that lshw seems to be the culprit. I ran a strace on both twtest-gtk and lshw, and included the output from both in the tarball attached. Also in the tarball is the output from lshal, which I hope gives enough insight into the hardware I am running on this laptop (Dell Inspiron 1420).
I hope that the information I have given is useful. If not, feel free to email me with any requests you may have for further testing. - Douglass ** Attachment added: "info.tar" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13101778/info.tar -- hwtest-gtk "crashes" and consumes 100% cpu power https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/204420 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
