Public bug reported:

My system blocks/freezes on booting after commenced the fsdisk with the linux
kernel 2.6.22 (the latest I have on my system), and I have to unplug the comp,
because I cannot turn off it by clicking the on/off button.
One strange thing: the (yellow) light of the hard disk (busy signal) is on and
freezes, as it seems to be blocked.

I have not the same problem with previous kernel 2.6.20, which boots
regularly.

OS: Kubuntu Linux 7.10 (updated)
Kernels present in grub: 2.6.22 and 2.6.20

System:
- Processor: Pentium IV 2.8 Ghz
- RAM: 768 MB
- Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 9200SE / 128 MB
- 2 hard disks, one Linux dedicated, the other Windows dedicated (the systems
are completely separated)

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
