Public bug reported:
Using the latest beta of 8.04 Ubuntu. In display settings, I set the
display to flip 180 degrees (as you would have, say, if your screen was
mounted upside down). The system froze immediately, and now whenever I
login I fail to get any further after entering my password, the screen
just clears leaving the login screen coloured background, and nothing
else comes up. Mouse icon still moves however.
