Public bug reported:

HH 8.04~2.6.24.15-generic

I have these two bugs (maybe the first is a feature) and i'll try my
best to explain them.

first: my usbdrive gets mounted on login not on boot, meaning it get his pmount
in the media folder on login.
a problem because i have a bootscript that needs access to it (see that it is
mounted) or exits.
Ofc i could add the script to .bash_login but it used to work in feisty.

second: when mounted on login it creates a pmount (example: Usb). When i
reboot the pmount is locked (root only) (not unmounted when logoff?) and
a new one is created (example Usb_). After a few reboots my media folder
looks Like this (Usb Usb_ Usb__ Usb___ ).The only way around this was to
remove all folders and to unmount them manually each time before logging
off. Again when you have a script that depends on seeing it in media and
it changes name on every boot, not to speak of all the clutter :)

A permanent solution to the bootscript and pmount was to mkdir the
folder in media and add the drive to automount on boot in Fstab.

I had the same problem and solution for an internal ntfs partition.
