Sorry I can't help with this.It happened once, but not more... I had a bug with the applets bar, it probably has caused the bug with emesene. A bug that i've identified happened with installation of ubuntu hardy, it happens after you choose the language in ubiquity (3rd step, I guess). The screen turns black and the X restart. To solve this, I've changed the language of the system to be the same of the installation (in this case, portuguese-brazilian) so it has worked. I don't know for who report this.
