Binary package hint: compiz
I have an Radeon Mobility X300 that ran compiz just fine thank you with
whatever open source driver was chosen by default in gutsy. However,
when I try to select desktop effects in Hardy beta (Linux hardy
2.6.24-15-generic #1 SMP Fri Apr 4 03:48:31 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux) it
tells me I need to install fglrx and won't start desktop effects without
it. Meanwhile, GLXGears is running nice and smooth in the background
using the opensource driver.
