After researching your response, there is no .conkyrc file installed by
default. That is my error. The .conkyrc file was created from a previous
installation. I missed deleting this file.
I was confused because the problems with the "default" .conkyrc were
confirmed in the Hardy Development forum thread (listed above).
Therefore, I did not check the distro package.
There is no dependence on mpd (after the .conkyrc file is deleted).
One warning remains in /etc/conky/conky.conf:
Conky: use_spacer should have an argument of left, right, or none.
'no' seems to be some form of 'false', so defaulting to none.
Changing from:
use_spacer no
To:
use_spacer none
will remove the warning.
